Brigantine Marine Services (AUS) was established with the aim of delivering professional, high-quality services through a team of experienced Master Mariners and Marine Chief Engineers. As a well-established, integrated company, Brigantine Marine (AUS) serves the marine, offshore, and oil and gas industries on a global scale. The company operates on a multifunctional platform, providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever-evolving needs of its business partners.

――Could you provide an overview of your company, including its founding year, headquarters location, and current workforce?

“Brigantine Marine Services is currently operating as an inspection, technical repairs, and supply company in Singapore, Australia, and India,” explained Mr. Ravi. “We were founded in March 2023, initially starting in Australia before expanding to Singapore and India. Our headquarters are located in Australia, and we currently have a team of 11 employees, comprising electricians, engineers, inspectors, master mariners, purchasers, and administrative staff.”

――Can you tell us about the current state of your company’s ship supply division?

“Our primary focus is on technical repairs for the mechanical and electrical systems of all shipboard machinery and equipment. We also supply general stores for deck, engine, and cabin items,” Mr. Rav stated. “In Australia and Singapore, we are particularly strong in supplying electrical items. Additionally, we handle motor rewinding and alternator repairs in these regions. We employ class-approved welders for steel repair jobs at Australian ports and conduct ship inspections for pre-Port State Control, condition inspections, and RightShip inspections with a combination of in-house and business associate inspectors globally.”

――With your qualifications as a captain, what types of ships and routes did you work on during your maritime career?

“I have sailed on bulk carriers, crude oil tankers, product tankers, and chemical tankers,” Mr. Rav shared. “Throughout my career, I navigated worldwide routes and visited numerous ports. I also participated in dry-docking at Kobe Shipyard and served as a captain for two years.”

――Your company is seeking contracts with Japanese shipowners and operators. What advantages does your ship management service offer compared to others?

“Our approach to ship management offers several distinct advantages,” Mr. Rav outlined. “Firstly, we have robust strategies for reducing non-budget expenses by integrating the monitoring of the Planned Maintenance System, which helps control unwanted spares, stores, and supplies onboard.

“Secondly, we are in discussions for large-scale contracts with various service companies at different ports to perform mandatory annual equipment services in a cost-effective manner. This is facilitated by our existing services and supply infrastructure.

“Our business intelligence reports also provide effective methods for reducing emissions to comply with CO2 regulations and highlight necessary technological developments onboard. These reports also advise on vessel value and the modifications required according to industry standards.

“We are vigilant in monitoring OPEX and advising owners on control measures to prevent additional expenses. As we also run an inspection company, we have a deep understanding of PSC inspection requirements, particularly in Australia, including SIRE, RightShip, and CDI inspections. We strive to ensure that vessel safety and commercial factors are not adversely affected by inspection outcomes.

“Transparency is crucial for building trust; hence, budgets and OPEX details are shared with owners in detail. Expenditures are made with the owner’s concurrence and approval. We are open to joint ventures or profit-sharing arrangements with owners, and our team is skilled in commercial matters such as cargo fixtures.

“We plan to send actual spending records to owners, seeking approval before supplying spares or conducting major maintenance, if required by shore technicians. Our commitment is to ensure quality management cost-effectively by adhering to technological compliances and regulatory requirements.

“Finally, we are dedicated to delivering the highest standards without compromising on quality and maintaining full transparency.”

――How do you plan to establish relationships with Japanese maritime stakeholders?

“Our strategy involves regular visits to Japanese stakeholders to present our profile and share innovative, modern ideas on ship management to build trust,” Mr. Rav explained. “We showcase our history in services and supply chain management, emphasizing that transparency and honesty are paramount in our operations. We also participate in major shipping events such as Sea Japan and Bari Fair to highlight our company profile and achievements.

“We recognize that Japanese owners value companies that deliver quality without compromising punctuality, transparency, and integrity. These principles are central to our company’s ethos, ensuring that we execute our tasks with sincerity and high transparency.”
