Miko Tan, LNG analyst at leading energy analytics firm Vortexa, has posted on LinkedIn regarding the shipment status of Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG. In June, the US LNG venture secured a transportation deal with DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company, and in December, it successfully delivered its first cargo of US LNG to Ukraine.

According to Vortexa’s real-time analysis, Venture Global loaded its first LNG cargo at the Plaquemines LNG terminal just 30 months after making the final investment decision (FID). The LNG carrier “VENTURE BAYOU”, with a capacity of 174,000 cubic metres, had been docked since production began at the facility on November 18. Initially destined for Brunsbüttel in Germany, the ship’s destination later became unclear. However, Venture Global later confirmed that the cargo was delivered to the German energy company EnBW.
Vortexa notes that Plaquemines LNG is the second North American export facility to load LNG this year, following New Fortress Energy’s Altamira FLNG in Mexico, which has an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tonnes (1.4 mtpa). As commissioning intensifies, Phase 1 of the Plaquemines LNG facility is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 13.3 million tonnes (13.3 mtpa), equivalent to 3-4 cargoes per week. The off-takers for Phase 1 of Plaquemines LNG include PGNiG, Sinopec, CNOOC, Shell, and EDF.
Venture Global, one of the leading LNG developers in the United States, recently filed for an IPO. According to the Financial Times, the company is looking to raise between $3 billion and $4 billion, marking the largest energy sector listing in over a decade, and one of the largest in US history.

Vortexaのリアルタイム分析によると、Venture Globalは、最終投資決定（FID）からわずか30カ月後に、同社のPlaquemines LNGターミナルで最初のLNG貨物を積み込んだ。容量174,000立方メートルのLNG船「VENTURE BAYOU」は、施設での生産が開始された11月18日以降、停泊していた。当初の目的地はドイツのブルンスビュッテルとされていたが、その後、目的地は不明となった。Venture Globalはその後、この貨物がドイツのエネルギー会社EnBWに配送されたと発表している。
Vortexaによると、Plaquemines LNGは、New Fortress Energyがメキシコで展開する年間生産能力140万トン（1.4 mtpa）のAltamira FLNGに続き、今年初めてLNGを積み込んだ北米の2番目の輸出施設である。試運転が本格化すると、施設のフェーズ1の年間生産能力は1,330万トン（13.3 mtpa）に達し、週に3～4隻の貨物積載に相当する。Plaquemines LNGフェーズ1のオフテイカー（顧客）には、PGNiG、Sinopec、CNOOC、Shell、EDFが含まれている。
Venture Globalは、米国の主要なLNG開発企業の一つであり、最近IPOを申請した。フィナンシャル・タイムズによると、この企業は30億ドルから40億ドルを調達する予定で、これは過去10年以上で最大規模のエネルギー分野の上場となり、米国史上でも最大級の一つとなる見込みだ。
